  Local Attractions Carsington Water boasts an RYA recognised watersports centre, offering dinghy, windsurfer and canoe hire and tuition, and junior activity sessions for ages 8–16 in the summer holidays (advanced booking advisable). Bank fishing for brown trout can be enjoyed just 50 yards from the cottages and rowing boats may be hired from the fishery centre. Across the lake, the visitor centre provides a restaurant, shops, cycle hire and an adventure playground. Matlock Bath's Heights of Abraham cable cars and Gulliver's Kingdom, Crich Tramway Museum, Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House and the market town of Ashbourne are all within about 10 miles. Alton Towers is just 15 miles. Within ¾ mile is a popular pub serving 'real ale' and a number of excellent dining pubs can be found within 5 miles. Shop ¾ mile.
