Anglesey Sea Zoo aims to provide a fun and educational experience for groups, families and individuals of all ages, with a friendly family atmosphere. Our policy is ‘think local, act global’ so we believe in supporting and protecting the local environment and enabling our visitors to share in a conservation experience. We aim to inform and to educate in order to preserve on both a local and a global scale – as well as having lots of fun whilst learning! We use local producers and stockists and fair-trade goods for our fully licensed bistro café, and our gift shop, which is piled high with all kinds of gifts from silly to nice but very nautical.
Did you know that the seas are around 3.5% salt, and if they dried up, enough salt would be left behind to build a 180-mile-tall, one mile-thick wall around the equator? More than 90 percent of that salt would be sodium chloride, ordinary table salt.
The sea contains more creatures than all the continents on earth put together, and many of these have never been seen, and more are discovered each year. We really know very little about the sea compared to the land on our planet, making it even more important that we protect the oceans and the animals that live there. Here we provide an opportunity to see marine life close-up so that you can learn interesting facts about even well known animals, and we also have some rare species on display, such as the Angel Shark, and the elusive British short-snouted seahorse which is part of our breeding and conservation research programme.
From kids to grown-ups, we can guarantee that you will have a fun learning experience and a great day out! We believe in providing value for money to all our visitors, and aim to offer as much variety as possible to people of all ages that visit us. We recommend that visitors allow themselves several hours to see everything on site – there’s enough to keep you occupied all day! We can cater for groups of all sizes and all ages, providing flexible packages to suit all, from beach safari rock pool rummages to specialized guided tours.
We have daily fish feeds at 2.30pm and other presentations at 12.00 every day which on some days includes the chance to see a diver underwater, making this the perfect place for an educational fun family day out! We welcome English and Welsh speakers, and can cater for others too!
Your entrance ticket is valid for 7 days* including the day of purchase so you can return as many times as you choose to make the most of our indoor exhibits, or outdoor play area, giant Octojump bouncy castle and crazy golf course. Or perhaps take a stroll along the shore of the picturesque Menai Strait with a backdrop of the Snowdonia mountain range.
